Ernest Manning Students (West Springs students)
There will be a Virtual Open house on December 2nd for Parents. This link will be e-mailed out to our parents.
There will be a live virtual presentation for students done during school hours on January 25th at 10:15am.
The registration process will be completed in March. These will be completed at school and be sent home for parent signature. Students and parents will then complete the form and return it to the school by a deadline TBD.
Bowness High Students (Cougar Ridge Students)
Grade 9 Tours:
Unfortunately, we have another year where all high schools are only able to offer virtual grade 9 tours and open houses. On January 18th, a video will be made available for our students. We will send more details as they are available.
Registration Information and Support:
After the January 18th presentation, Grade 9 teachers will work with Bowness, students, and parents to make their choices for classes in Grade 10. Afterwards, we will have them input their courses into Power School by January 31st.
Western Canada IB Candidates (Program of Choice)
We had Parent information meetings about the International Baccalaureate program in November. For entrance into this program, students will have to apply to Western Canada. More information will be coming out for students in January.
Central Memorial (Performing Visual Arts Students) (Program of Choice)
Central Memorial has a Performing Visual Arts program that requires an application for entrance. Central is not doing an open house/tours this year due to Covid restrictions. Instead they are promoting their programming to students and families by emailing a Digital Package to teachers to share with students and families. This will be upcoming.
Central Memorial is asking that families who want to know more, should go to their website pvacentral.ca to learn more about each program. Also, watch their promo video for a glimpse of student-life within the program. Afterwards, the family should fill out an expression of interest form for a teacher from Central to get in touch.
For families who do apply to the program, they will be emailed a Teams link over winter break, to attend a virtual information session with Central teachers. This will be in the first week back to classes in January. Afterwards, the auditions-interviews will take place towards the end of January.
