School Council Meeting Dates:

• September 18 at 6:30 pm
• October 16 at 6:30 pm
• November 20 at 6:30 pm
• January 15 at 6:30 pm
• February 19 at 6:30 pm
• April 16 at 6:30 pm
• May 21 at 6:30 pm

School Council Roles:

School Council collaborates with the administration to ensure the parent perspective is reflected in school decision-making and facilitates the communication of school information to the parent community.

• Chair: Host monthly meetings with school administration and parents. Work with the administration to advise on school matters as well as sharing ideas, concerns, and information from the parent community. 2-3 hours per month.
• Past Chair: Support the new Chair as needed. 1-2 hours per month
• Vice Chair: Support the Chair with duties and host meetings if the Chair is not available. 1-2 hours per month.
• Secretary: Responsible for taking notes at School Council meetings. 1-2 hours per meeting
• Social Media Coordinator: Post to social platforms of upcoming events and news. Regular meeting attendance is not required. 1 hour per month.
• Volunteer Coordinator: Responsible for creating a Sign-up Genius to organize parent volunteers for school activities (pancake breakfast, Healthy Hunger, etc.). Regular meeting attendance is not required. 1-2 hours per month.
• Staff Appreciation Coordinator: Responsible for organizing the staff appreciation events that occur throughout the year. Regular meeting attendance is not required. 2 hours per planned event with 3-4 events per year.
• Welcome Breakfast Coordinator: Responsible for overseeing the welcome back pancake breakfast. Planning starts in June and requires some work during the summer of ordering equipment and gathering items. Organizes volunteers for the event day (set-up, distribution, take-down). Submits receipts to the Society Treasurer. Regular meeting attendance is not required. 10+ hours.
• Members at Large: Attend 3 - 4 meetings throughout the year, providing an opportunity to contribute to the decisions, gather & share ideas from the parent community, and take on small roles within the council if desired. Regular meeting attendance is not required. 3-4 hours per year.
