Dear Parents/Guardians
Here are some updates for the coming week:
Please be advised that there will be no classes tomorrow, Friday, April 18 due to the Good Friday holiday, and Monday, April 21, due to a Professional Development Day (PD Day) for the staff.
Students will return to the school building on Tuesday, April 22.
Athletics
Badminton
All our badminton teams have now been selected. Congratulations to all of the student athletes who will be representing West Ridge School throughout the season! We have a couple of exhibition matches scheduled for next week. The Grade 9 Team will be playing at Vincent Massey School on April 22, while the Grade 8 Team will also be playing at Massey on April 24. Both matches begin at 4:15pm. Our next Grade 5 Developmental badminton session will be held on April 25 at 7:30am. All badminton information will be included on our Athletics website.
Night of the Raptors
Thank you to the parents/families who have already donated items for our upcoming Night of the Raptor celebration. If you are unfamiliar with this event, Night of the Raptors is a celebration of all things athletics and is open to any student, coach, or volunteer that was part of an inter-school team throughout the school year. If you are willing to donate door prizes for this exciting event, please get in touch with Mr. Dixon via email (tcdixon@cbe.ab.ca).
Track Day
Our school-wide Track Day is tentatively scheduled for May 15. We are looking for about 15-20 broken hockey sticks that we can repurpose as stakes to partition our athletic field during this event. If you have any broken sticks that you could donate, we would gladly accept them. Sticks can be brought to the school and dropped-off in the PE office.
Grade 9 Farewell Fundraiser
We are doing a perogies and sausage fundraiser.
