Volleyball
All of our volleyball teams were playing in the divisional championship games earlier this week. Our Jr. Boys finished first, while our Jr. Girls, Sr. Girls, and Sr. Boys all took second place. Congratulations to all of our teams for very successful seasons. I also want to thank our coaches (Ms. McKenzie, Ms. Gouthro, Ms. Lonsdale, Ms. Kapeller, Mr. Moulton, Mr. Scollard, Ms. Olesen, and Mr. Pendergast) for all of your time and dedication throughout this season. It was very much appreciated!

Grade 9 Fundraiser - Do you have a Sweet Tooth????
Over the past five years, our Grade 9 students have made incredible and lasting contributions to the Raptor family. We would like to send them off in a way that acknowledges the lasting legacy they have left at West Ridge. With that in mind, we need our community’s help in raising funds for this celebration. To support this, we have organized a Purdy’s chocolate fundraiser—helping both the celebration and, perhaps, satisfying that sweet tooth of yours! Use the link below to place your order. Deadline to place orders will be March 29, 2025. https://fundraising.purdys.com/1963302-127201 If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Brophy asbrophy@cbe.ab.ca |
West Ridge Parent Council/Society
Parent Talk Opportunity
Tuesday April 8 at 7pm, held at the Mount Royal Bella Theatre, tickets are $25 (http://tickets.mru.ca/ArnicaFoundation). “Parenting with the Brain in Mind” is a night by Tina Payne Bryson, PhD, clinician, consultant, and author of two New York Times Best Sellers: The Whole-Brain Child and No-Drama Discipline, and The Yes Brain and The Power of Showing Up, co-authored with Dan Siegel. The talk will teach practical information about a child’s brain and offer a new perspective on some of the most pressing concerns, along with some tools and strategies for addressing them.
Next School Council Meeting & Parent Talk
Please join us on April 22 at 6:30pm (new date!) for a School Council meeting. Information will be presented from our administration around Video Surveillance Technology including an overview, benefits, use, collection and with an opportunity to provide feedback.
Immediately after the April 22 meeting, School Council will also host an interactive talk given by Tracy Normandeau, a parent at WRS, who is a Police Officer, Fitness & Nutrition Coach, and Community Advocate. She will speak to the connection between physical health, mental well-being, and online behavior including topics such as online safety, cyberbullying, physical activity and healthy eating.
West Ridge School Planning Survey 2025
Please provide your feedback! This survey, sent by email on March 17 provides an opportunity for parents to provide insight used to guide decisions made for the next school year.
