2025-2026 Homeroom Placement
As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, we would like to share some important information about how class lists are created.
Class placement is a thoughtful and ongoing process that involves collaboration among our teaching staff and administration.
Our teachers use their in-depth knowledge of students’ academic, social, and emotional needs to build well-balanced classes that support the success of all learners. Many factors are considered, including:
- Learning styles
- Individual strengths
- Peer dynamics
- Overall class composition
Because of the complexity and care involved in this process, we are unable to accommodate specific requests for teachers, classmates, or classroom placements. We appreciate your understanding and trust in our professional judgment.
Class lists will be finalized over the summer, and you will find out your child’s placement when school begins in the fall.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Athletics
Track & Field
The first version of our Track & Field Team has been posted outside of the Aux. Gym. There is a mandatory meeting on Monday, May 26 at 12:00pm in the Main Gym for all those students who are currently on the roster. We will be finalizing all track roster spots, distributing paperwork, and providing details about the inter-school Track Meet that is happening on June. 10. If your child is on the roster, please ensure they bring their lunch on Monday and are attending this meeting.
High School Fall Sports
A representative from Ernest Manning High School will be at West Ridge School for a presentation about high school sports. This presentation will be happening on June 5 in the Main Gym from 12:00-12:30pm. If you are interested in trying out for an athletic team at EMHS this fall, you will want to be in attendance for this brief presentation. Bring your lunch!
Night of the Raptors
Registration for our annual Night of the Raptors event is now closed. Thank you to the 100+ parents/families who registered their child for this fun evening celebration. Fees will be posted to your MyCBE accounts next week. Please ensure payments have been made by May 29, 2025 at 11:59pm so we can forward all orders to StrEATS.
Physical Education
Just a friendly reminder about proper footwear in Physical Education. Now that the weather is getting warmer, we are noticing more Crocs, Birkenstocks, and the like in PE. Athletic footwear is required for participation in PE class. It’s also worth mentioning that sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a waterbottle are all important for students to stay hydrated and to protect from sunburns while outside for PE.
Raptor Shack
The Raptor Shack will be close for the rest of the school year. Please make sure your students have sufficient food for their needs. Thank you for supporting the Raptor Shack this year!
