WRS The Week Ahead: Aug 31st - Sept 8th
|
Dear Families, What a great start!! For those that are new to our school community WELCOME TO OUR RAPTOR FAMILY! Every week we share a glimpse into the week ahead and some highlights of the previous week. Each weekly message is posted on our website as well if you need to reference anything later. If you have any questions please feel free to call our main office at (403) 817-3552. Our grade 5’s joined us yesterday in the morning and our grade 6/7/8/9’s came that afternoon. Students were met with welcoming faces and many stories of summer adventures were shared. Today brought the new timetable to life were students participated in a modified day that was a mini-version of what they will see for Tuesday next week. It was so great to see all the smiles in our building over these past few days. Mr. Connelly and Ms. Paxton were ‘out-and-about’ visiting classes and our front office staff has been working hard at getting new students registered and timetables filled. Below is a couple of messages that we wanted to share prior to the upcoming week! Have a great long weekend, see you Tuesday! Mr. Connelly & Ms. Paxton
Updates this week for families are: Bus Zones Please be aware that we have two busses this year and we will need to ensure the front of the school (first 8m) is left open for one of those buses. Please do not idle there for drops offs/pick ups and/or park. We will be adjusting street signage to indicate the changes but it might be a couple of weeks before those are up. Thank you for your flexibility. Spirit Wear is Coming! As we start our new year we thought we would look into opening up orders for some more school Spirit Wear. Our Leadership class will be coming around soon with more information and might even show us a ‘sneak peak’ at the swag at our Pep Rally on Sept 8th! Stay tuned… Pancake Breakfast – Volunteers Needed West Ridge School Council and the School Society are excited to host the Back to School Raptor's Pancake Breakfast on Friday, September 8 first thing in the morning for the 850 students plus staff of West Ridge, before the school pep rally. Parent volunteers are needed for set-up, mixing, cooking and serving the students and staff (it's a fun, busy morning and a great way to connect with the parent community!). Please see the attached sign-up genius link to sign up and see the volunteers required. Any questions, please reach out to School Council at wrscouncil@gmail.com https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409054FAFA62FA2FF2-welcome2#/ Thank you in advance for your support and time!
