Dear Families,

This week was a busy one as we closed out January and officially started Semester 2!  Report cards were visible on Tuesday and just a little reminder that we no longer provide printed copies so please make sure you log in and take a look, and print if you need to.  If your child is on an IPP those updates will be coming home shortly.  Please connect with your child’s teacher if you do not hear from them by February 9^th.

PE Weekly Update

Congratulations to our Wrestling Team who wrapped up a very successful season this week at Divisionals! This year we had 4 First Place finishes, 4 Second Place finishes and 3 Third Place finishes. 

West Ridge finished 4^th in the SE standings and 24^th in the city overall.

All 4 of our Volleyball teams are off to a great start! Our Junior & Senior boys walked away yesterday with double header wins to kick off the season. The Junior & Senior Girls head into their season opener games today with the Jr. Girls games taking place at Vincent Massey and our Sr. Girls playing on our home court! Spectators are welcome!

Throughout the month of February our Grade 7,8,9 Ski Snowboard trips will be taking place. The Grades 7s are headed to Nakiska on February 21, the Grade 8s are going to Norquay on February 5, and the 9s are bound for Lake Louise on February 14. If your child is attending the ski/snowboard trip, please adhere to the timelines for departure and return.

 

Child and Youth Well-Being: A Webinar Series for Parents and Guardians 

Metal Health & Anxiety (Grade K-6) - February 8^th 6:30-8:00pm

Learn how to support elementary-aged children with stress and anxiety. Our partners from AHS will clarify the language around mental health and provide effective coaching strategies to help children grow more resilient. You'll also learn about the signs that indicate the need for professional assessment and support, as well as how to boost your own mental health.  Meeting Link HERE.
