Updates this coming week for families are:
PE Weekly Update
All four of our basketball teams are competing in playoffs this evening. Our Jr. and Sr. Girls Teams are playing at Griffith Woods at 4:30pm and 6:30pm respectively while our Jr. and Sr. Boys Teams are playing here in the Raptor Den at 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Come out and support our basketball teams as they attempt to make the Division Finals next week.
Our final Grade 5 Developmental Basketball session will be held tomorrow morning from 7:30-8:15am.
Wrestling season is now underway with practices resuming now that the Fall Break is over. The final practice this week will be today after school in the Aux. Gym.
Keep an eye open for the Grade 6 Ski Trip forms that will be coming home soon. This ski trip is happening on December 7 at WinSport Canada Olympic Park. WinSport can only accommodate 90 students, so we won’t be able to take the entire Grade 6 class. If your child wants to attend the ski trip, please ensure they have their forms returned to the PE office as soon as possible.
Any Grade 6 students who are unable or unwilling to attend the ski trip will be taking part in a snowshoeing field trip. Additional information will be provided by the Grade 6 teaching team. Stay tuned for forthcoming information about ski trips for Grades 7, 8, and 9 students as well.
Lost and Found
Our lost and found is getting very full of lost items. Please remind your child to check for their lost and found items. The lost and found will also be on display at the front entrance for Parent/Teacher Conferences. If you wish to come to the school to see if any of your child(ren)'s items are in the lost and found please check in at the Main Office and go take a look. It is very helpful when clothing is labeled.
Child and Youth Well-Being: A Webinar Series for Parents and Guardians
Teen brains are amazing, but working with brains under construction comes with challenges. How do you nurture and appreciate this time? Adolescence is known across cultures as a tough time for both teens and adults who support them. Adults and teens can work together to form a deeper understanding of what is happening in the brain creating a deeper understanding of one another. Come learn with us on January 18, 2024 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM – Meeting Link
